As Liverpool prepare for Arne Slot’s second season in charge, expectations are building around a busy summer window. Speaking after the end of the 2024–25 campaign, club captain Virgil van Dijk hinted at significant changes: “Who stays and who goes, I don’t know — but this summer has to bring big decisions.”
According to The Telegraph, Saudi Pro League clubs have initiated contact with Liverpool regarding potential moves for Luis Díaz, Diogo Jota and Darwin Núñez. With the club open to restructuring their frontline, all three players are being monitored.
Darwin Núñez was already the subject of two approaches from Al Nassr in January. One bid reportedly exceeded £62 million, but Liverpool rejected both. Recent reports suggest the club might now consider offers around £38 million. Atlético Madrid are said to be leading the European pursuit, though Saudi clubs may return with improved terms.
Luis Díaz, who has had one of his strongest seasons at Anfield, is also on the radar of Saudi teams. While he has long been linked with a dream move to Barcelona, the Colombian winger has repeatedly affirmed his commitment to Liverpool. He finished the season as the team’s second-highest scorer in the league.
Diogo Jota has also drawn interest, though his injury struggles since January have limited his impact — just one goal in his final 15 appearances. Still, he remains a potential departure as Liverpool weigh up their attacking depth.
Liverpool are actively targeting a new centre-forward for the 2025–26 season. While Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak remains a difficult target financially, internal discussions are ongoing. The club is expected to sell at least one attacker to make room for reinforcements, with Jota and Núñez seen as the most likely to leave.
Formal bids are anticipated in the coming weeks as Liverpool refine their squad planning. Under Slot, a reshaped attacking line could headline the next chapter of the post-Klopp era.
