Despite persistent interest from Real Madrid, Chelsea have made it clear that Enzo Fernández is not for sale, with the Argentine midfielder considered a core part of their long-term plans under Enzo Maresca.

Real Madrid’s interest in Enzo Fernández is no secret, but Chelsea have firmly rejected any suggestion that the midfielder could leave this summer. According to Sky Sports, the London club have “no intention whatsoever” of letting the 23-year-old depart, and consider him untouchable unless an extraordinary offer arrives — a scenario deemed highly unlikely by both sides.
Fernández joined Chelsea in January 2023 for a then-British record fee of £106.8 million. While Madrid have tracked him as a long-term target, Chelsea have no plans to open talks. His contract runs until 2032, and incoming manager Enzo Maresca sees him as a foundational piece in his tactical setup.

Enzo’s links to La Liga haven’t stopped at Real Madrid. Several Argentine players at Atlético Madrid reportedly attempted to convince the midfielder to consider a move. However, in a statement from March, Fernández made clear that he was committed to staying at Stamford Bridge, closing the door on speculation at least for now.
Midfield partner Moisés Caicedo has also attracted attention, with Saudi clubs monitoring his situation. Yet the club’s position remains consistent: Caicedo, like Fernández, is not available. Signed for £115 million — the most expensive transfer in English football history — the Ecuadorian has impressed with his performances and is seen as integral to the team’s structure under Maresca. His contract runs through 2031.
Romeo Lavia, who spent most of last season sidelined due to injury, is expected to return fully fit. Maresca has publicly praised the Belgian’s potential, stating: “When fit, Romeo can be one of the most complete midfielders in the Premier League.” Chelsea view Lavia as part of a three-man midfield axis alongside Fernández and Caicedo.
As the transfer window heats up, Chelsea’s message is clear: their midfield trio is non-negotiable. With Fernández, Caicedo and Lavia all under long-term contracts, the club is determined to maintain continuity heading into the new season. Real Madrid and other suitors will have to look elsewhere — the Chelsea engine room is closed for business.
