Manchester City have agreed to sign 18-year-old Mahamadou Sangare from Paris Saint-Germain, with the French forward set to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Sangare, 18, has been a prolific scorer for PSG at youth level, recording 42 goals in 46 appearances across U17 and U19 competitions. His performances earned him a training opportunity with the first team in December 2024, but he has yet to feature in an official matchday squad.
With his contract set to expire this summer, Sangare is expected to join Manchester City as a free agent. According to Fabrizio Romano, City moved quickly to secure an agreement before the end of the season, beating out interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.
This is not the first time City have signed a youth prospect from PSG. In 2018, the club signed Claudio Gomes under similar circumstances, although the midfielder later moved on to Palermo after limited first-team involvement. City appear confident that Sangare’s profile fits their current academy structure more closely.
Manchester City are preparing for a summer of changes at senior level but remain focused on strengthening their youth ranks. The club is also in advanced talks to sign American prospect Cavan Sullivan, 15, as part of a long-term strategy.
City’s youth setup has emerged as one of the most productive in England in recent years. The U21 team recently won Premier League 2, while the U18s are set to face Aston Villa in the FA Youth Cup final. Sangare’s arrival will further enhance an already well-structured development pathway at the club.
